На выставке CES 2011 компания Motorola продемонстрировала планшет XOOM. В отличие от прочих планшетов на основе платформы Android, в нём используется Android Honeycomb - версия, предназначенная специально для планшетов.

Любители Android надеются, что XOOM станет первым планшетом на Android, который не стыдно сравнивать с айпадом.

Верхнее видео больше похоже на непреднамеренную рекламу Microsoft Surface, самого XOOM там почти нет. Могли бы и показать устройство, если уж им есть, что показывать. Год назад реклама iPad на сто процентов состояла из демонстрации интерфейса планшета Apple.

- Иконки кажутся мелкими по сравнению с айпадом, хотя разрешение и размер дисплеев у планшетов различаются несущественно.
- Зачем потребовалось отдельное приложение для ютюба, если андроид "поддерживает" флэш?
- Как будет этот экран выглядеть при вертикальной ориентации планшета?
- Почему на стартовом экране свалены книги, а не, допустим, фильмы?
- Маркет вытащили на стартовый экран - это плюс.
- Чёрная полоса внизу невозможно уродлива.
- Короче, стартовый экран Android как был неудобным, так и остался. Прогноз: 90% не догадаются, что его можно настроить, а оставшиеся 10% превратят стартовый экран в такой же ад, который некоторые разводят на рабочих столах Windows - знаете, когда всё покрыто двойным слоем неразобранных иконок и файлов.
